About Poker
When playing the wonderful game of poker there are some basic strategies you can use when playing tough games. These are particularly useful when playing extremely good players, even though poker is based on honesty you will need to employ deception and other skills, which is not at all dishonest.
In the fact that you’re simply trying to convince them you do not have a good hand or exactly the opposite. The honesty part comes with being honest with money, wins, etc…
Bluffing is probably you’re most valuable tool. It is wise to use this against the good players. When playing against weak players, bluffing is basically useless because they tend to call on anything. Bluffing is used to try to convince the player to fold on a hand when you know he probably shouldn’t. You are trying to display to them you have a better hand than you do. Making your opponent think he’s already beaten. This requires betting like you would if you had a great hand.
Slowplaying is the exact opposite of bluffing. You are here trying to convince you’re opponents that you have a worse hand than you really do. Using this requires keeping an eye on what you’re doing and knowing what’s going on.
Play different types of poker; do not always stick with the same style of poker. It will get repetitive and boring. It is a bad way to compete at the same time. If you continue to play every hand in the same way you will get predictable thus allowing players to read you and perhaps result in losses.
This contains just a small portion of strategies used in poker, with more game play your skills and experience will grow and you will then be able to know the strategies that work for you in your game play.
